Unable to Configure CRM Outlook Client after upgrade to CRM 2015

During a recent upgrade to CRM 2015, I came across issues configuring CRM for Outlook following the upgrade to 2015. After much research I found that it was related to the Sitemap.

The issue was specified in the error message:

“An item with the same key has already been added.”

It is vague in not specifying where the key existed, was it in the Sitemap or the Solution?

After investigating I discovered that there were duplicate keys in the Sitemap. I believe that as part of the upgrade, the default sections are reinserted into the Sitemap causing duplication of keys and ultimately causing the problem.
